Wow.I can't believe the price of this Lacie has not gone down since the prior year I purchased this item.In particular, I bought this because I edit in FCP and needed something reliable and robust. It boots up without any problem and I cannot even hear that its on.On the other hand, my first external hard drive is a Seagate and it took forever to start and there was something wrong with the plug that makes the drive go on and off. With that nightmare I wanted my next hard drive to be reliable and this Lacie has proved it.Ive had it for a year and no problems. I would recommend this Lacie if your out for an external hard drive, get this one! .
